60 days to pay or deny

Florida residential insurers generally must respond to your claim communications within 7 days and pay or deny the claim within 60 days of notice. Late payments can owe interest.

Fla. Stat. § 627.70131

Do not wait to report damage

Florida generally bars a new or reopened claim that is not reported within 1 year of the loss, and a supplemental claim after 18 months. For hurricanes, the clock starts at landfall.

Fla. Stat. § 627.70132

Time to cancel a public adjuster contract

You can cancel a Florida public adjuster contract without penalty within 10 days of signing. After a declared state of emergency, you have 30 days after the loss or 10 days after signing, whichever is longer.

How fees work in Florida

You sign a written contract that states our fee before we start any work.

For homeowner and condo unit claims, Florida law limits what a public adjuster can charge:

  • Up to 20% of what the insurance company pays on the claim.
  • Up to 10% on a claim from an event covered by a declared state of emergency, for one year after the declaration.
  • No more than 1% if the insurer pays or commits to pay your policy limits within 14 days after the loss is reported, or within 10 days after you sign with us, whichever is later.
  • No fee on any money the insurer paid before you hired us.

Commercial claims: the fee is set in your contract.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us what happened

Fill out the form or call. Our team reviews your information and calls you back within one business day.

  2. 2

    We document everything

We inspect the damage, take detailed photos, review your whole policy and write a full estimate of what it costs to repair.

  3. 3

    We handle the insurance company

We present the claim, answer the carrier, schedule inspections and negotiate, and keep you updated along the way.

Florida law sets deadlines for giving your insurer notice of a property claim. Contact us as soon as you can after the loss, even if you have not filed yet.
